Creative Expos are one of the premier ways that ZO connects with artistic talent around the world. 2025 is ZO’s 10th Anniversary and we will run several Creative Expos. The O.D.D. Room EXPO (connected to our developing film project) will start on March 29, 2025.

The word Decennalia is Latin for “10th Anniversary” and refers to festivals of games in Ancient Rome, which occurred every ten years. ZO was particularly intrigued by the festivals’ origin, which dates back to 27 BC when the Roman Emperor Augustus “refused the supreme power offered to him for life and would only consent to accept power for ten years,” as noted by Wikipedia. During the festival, Augustus would “surrender all of his authority to the hands of the people, who were filled with joy and charmed by the gesture.”
In a world where power is so often idolized and misused, it is rare and inspiring to find those who refuse its seduction. Those who are willing to use their influence to empower others. Augustus is known for restoring peace and prosperity to Rome.

The TOUCH OF BLUE EXPO was ZO’s most ambitious International Creative Outreach. We launched it at the beginning of the pandemic which severely affected everyone, including our outreach efforts. The finals once again proved to us that ART HAS NO WALLS and creativity is flourishing globally – even amid all of the chaos. We know that Creativity Can Change the World!
This Expo allowed us to dig in even deeper to our Mission of promoting peace through the arts and the deterents and adversarial circumstances that we faced starting in 2020 just strengthened our resolve to push forward. We excitedly began our upcoming 2024 DECENNALIA ANNIVERSARY EXPOS which will continue through 2025 — inviting anyone over the age of 13 from anywhere in the world to particupate! Make ART — Get Paid!
This photo below from one of our Teen Media Expo winners absolutely exemplifies the creativity, timely synchronicity and international goals that we strive to accomplish through these International Expos!

Ashley Jung – “Flip Flops in the Rain”
ASHLEY JUNG from Seoul, S. Korea was the Gold Winner in Photography for our 2017 Teen Media Expo. The Expo’s Theme was New World Identity and both our judges and all of us working with ZO fell in love with this shot. When we informed Ashley of her win, we were also delighted to give the 1st place matching gift to her school, Seoul Foreign School. This is the email from her teacher: “Dear ‘ZO’, I am Ashley’s art teacher (John Young, head of Art and Design at Seoul Foreign School) and I am delighted to hear the news of Ashley winning the award. Actually, we are going back to the Philippines this November to the place where the photo was taken and we will be working on a mural painting at one of the schools there, that is what Ashley wishes the money to go towards, so its a nice cycle of events, that the money will be going towards a painting the boy in the photo will be able to enjoy and brighten up the local community there.”
The Expo, Ashley finding our Expo, and her subsequent winning of the award, were all in perfect synch to bless the little boy in the photo. That is the purpose of ZO! We know that creativity can change the world and we just want to be a conduit for it.
