HONEY
By Erin Jamieson
saccharine & stinging
I balanced the weight
of honeybees &
mindless summers
where I ran barefoot
drinking Capri Sun
running through sprinklers
with a brother who-
a decade later
would transform &
melt away like the
soft serve ice cream
I always ate too slowly
certain I could keep
its sweetness under
a beautiful, unforgiving
summer sun
