RICHARD J. FROST
“Sting Ray – Our Pretty Little Rainbow Robot” — Summerhead
Richard Frost self-describes his artistic style as “tweaked realism” — or as he heard a critic say — “Norman Rockwell meets the Twilight Zone . . .” This bears humorous witness with everyone familiar with his work. Lol! Richard is a graduate of Otis Parsons Art Institute and now lives and works in Los Angeles.
Of course, this is our favorite Richard Frost piece! * He did not make this for us — just serendipity . . .
As you dig a little deeper into comments and notes on Richard’s various web pages, you can’t fail to notice how the personal caricatures based on relatives, friends and commissioned work are as brilliantly rendered, as the array of more famous depictions. I had to smile at a comment about one of the more uncanny captures when he remarked, “you think I just make this stuff up.”
