What is Star Safe?

“Stay safe” is a common expression, either as a banal pleasantry, or a sincere wish to someone for whom we care deeply. Whatever the case, it implies hope to endure whatever difficulties or obstacles may lie ahead. This comes with understanding that some things are beyond our control. Such circumstances seem more present now than they ever have been. In keeping with the human tradition of finding positivity in difficult times, our “star safe” theme seeks to add whimsy and playfulness to this common saying. The meaning is the same, but the presentation serves to defy an atmosphere that would otherwise bring one down.

GUIDELINES

• Anyone over the age of 13 from anywhere in the world can enter
• All entries must be the original work of submitter (and can be from any date or time)
• Acknowledgment is made that artwork original belongs to artist and remains artist’s property
• Artwork should reflect the “star safe” theme
• Submission of artwork photo includes representation that submitter has the right to grant permission for publication of work
• Photo of art should be at 240px (or more) — Width 1350px  by Height 900px
• Art medium should be specified (i.e., acrylic, oil, mixed-media, etc.)
• Original artwork dimensions should be included
• Entry should be titled and will be published with a “By” line for its creator
• Entry should be appropriate for general audience
• All entries should be submitted online with the author’s real name and information
• All submissions grant ZO non-exclusive permission to publish entries with author’s proper credit in perpetuity
• Copyright to the submissions will remain the property of its creator.
